Hakuba Japan 白馬

Hakuba means "white horse".
白 (pronounced "Shiro" or "Ha") means white and 馬 ("Uma" or "Ba") means horse. The namesake of "white horse" differs depending on your source of information and there are several stories; quick minds will also realise that "Shirouma" is also the name of one of Hakuba's famous three peaks ("San-Zan").
