Happo-one of Hakuba, host of many 1998 Winter Olypic Events, features 45 different ski runs, dramatic mountain faces in the background, and is next to Hakuba's best hotels and restaurants. Happo has world-class terrain: mogul courses, long carving runs, and many easy slopes for beginners to practice ski and snowboarding.

Happo-one has a ski school for all ages and abliity levels, although at this time (2008), ski and snowboard lessons from the Happo resort

From the top chairlifts many backcountry ski and snowboarders, photographers, and hikers follow the top ridgeline leading to the top of
(peak name). Many possible backcountry lines are obvious, but do take care to plan your route and exit as the bottom of the Happo area is
often the steepest, ending in cliff bands, rocky areas, and terrain traps. Avalanches often occur, so make sure you have the proper avalanche
